Double Olympic sprint champion, Elaine Thompson Herah, continued her winning form on the track a few minutes ago after capturing the Women’s 60m in Birmingham at the fifth leg of the World Indoor Tour Gold series.

Not off to a great start, Thompson Herah showed her usual good mid-race power to move away from her rivals, clocking 7.08 seconds to do so.

Mujinja Kambondji of Switzerland, 7.11, and Daryl Neita of Great Britain, 7.13 seconds, ended second and third respectively.

Thompson Herah is now the fastest Jamaican and fourth-best in the world so far in the event.

Briana Williams with a 7.09 seconds clocking two weeks ago in New York was the fastest Jamaican before today.
