Hydel High School’s Brianna Lyston looked a world apart when she crossed the finish line in the girls’ under-20 200 metres event at the JAAA Carifta Trials inside the National Stadium on Sunday.

Lyston clocked a fast 22.60 seconds to finish more than a second ahead of her teammate, Alana Reid, who ended in 23.29.

Further back was Mount Alvernia’s Carleta Bernard, 23.65, while St Jago’s Shenese Walker, 23.66 was fourth.

In the boys’ equivalent, while not as dominant, Edwin Allen High School’s Bryan Levell produced much quality to win in 20.53, despite a negative 1.2 metres per second wind.

Levell finished ahead of St Catherine High School’s Sandrey Davison, 20.90, and Kingston College’s Adrian Kerr, who finished with the same time.

Among the under-17s, Spot Valley High’s Romario Hines was the only man below 22 seconds, winning the event in 21.82.

Second was St Elizabeth Technical High School’s Rickoy Hunter, 22.09. He was followed to the line by Maggotty High’s Zachary Wallace, 22.32 and Clarendon College’s Tremaine Hamilton, 22.40.

In the girls’ under-17 version of the event, Sabrina Dockery, was out of sight, winning in 24.03, almost a second ahead of Edwin Allen’s Theianna Lee Terrelonge, 25.02.

Hydel High’s Onetta Mitchell, 25.17, was third.
